Comme pour Révélée, il y a des livres où il ne faut donner aucuns indices pour ne pas gâcher l'incroyable histoire de cette secrétaire Christine totalement dévouée à son employeur. Je ne me risquer à en dire plus. Nous sommes pris dans un tourbillon, un cycle infernal. Je vous laisse le découvrir et j'espère que vous pourrez le trouver. Les 2 livres de Renee Knight sont difficiles à trouver alors n'hésitez de créer des alertes sur Gibert ou la bourse aux livres. 
Je l'ai eu pour 2€ avec une alerte chez Gibert. Alors foncez et surtout gardez le bien. Deux bijoux

Book Review – The Secretary by Renée Knight

Renée Knight, the brilliant British author of Disclaimer (Révélée), struck again with The Secretary — her second and, so far, final novel. And once again, she delivers a psychological thriller that is both chilling and unputdownable.

The story follows Christine Butcher, a quiet, loyal, invisible secretary who has spent years in the shadow of her powerful boss, Mina Appleton. Christine seems devoted, almost erased — the perfect employee. But as the story unfolds, we begin to understand that loyalty can be dangerous, and silence can hold terrible secrets.

Told in Christine’s voice, the book explores power, manipulation, guilt, and the blurry line between victim and accomplice. It’s unsettling, slow-burning, and deeply addictive. Knight has a real talent for tension — for making the ordinary feel ominous.

Like Disclaimer, The Secretary explores what happens when the truth is buried, then slowly unearthed. It’s not a thriller in the traditional sense — there are no car chases or detectives — but the suspense is psychological, and the unease creeps in page by page.

If you enjoy dark, intelligent fiction with complex female characters, The Secretary is a must-read. Renée Knight may only have written two novels, but both are unforgettable.

ce livre est puissant, nous sommes plongé dans la bonté et la loyauté sans faille de Christine pour sa boss. Nous sommes hapés, en alerte et désemparé pour elle. 
Superbe livre et ça ne m'étonnerait pas qu'il soit réalisé en film aussi.
